Phytosterol Macadamiate is an ester produced from the fatty acids of macadamia nut oil and (soy) phytosterols using resource-saving, enzymatic synthesis. Its high content of phytosterols (~ 45%) and very good bioavailability - also thanks to the high proportion of palmitoleic acids, which here account for around 20% of the esterified fatty acids - predestines Phytosteryl Macadamiate for mature or barrier-damaged skin. It helps to reduce inflammation and soothe the skin.

Especially in skin conditions where a deficit of the skin's own cholesterol esters makes the skin dry and sensitive, Phytosteryl Macadamiate can take over the function of cholesterol and compensate for the deficiency. Stability and resistance of the skin barrier can thus be restored and transepidermal water loss reduced. Especially in the reduction of transepidermal water loss, Phytosteryl Macadamiate can demonstrate its high water absorption capacity and show why it is also very suitable as a vegetable alternative to lanolin.

Its melting point close to body temperature makes formulations with Phytosteryl Macadamiate easy and allows creams and lotions with a very pleasant skin feel.

Phytosteryl Macadamiate is suitable for natural cosmetics. The phytosterols come exclusively from non-GMO soy.
